KInglake needs a social hub where locals and visitors can meet, have a meal and a drink in a relaxed atmosphere. Food is OK. Prices are bit over the top, especially the beer prices. I am beginning to think there must be a pub/club controlling body which sets high beer prices. It is cheaper to have a meal than to buy two beers. Staff friendly, although it is difficult to know who is staff as they dress just as untidily as the locals. Service is quick.This is not a venue for elegant dining. Expect it to be noisy.
Good food. Good atmosphere. Lots of kids though.
Went for a celebration meal ordered medium rare scotch fillet battered fish and carbonara the waitress brought the steak and pasta we waited 10 minutes for the fish which was cold and dry as there was no staff in the bistro and the food was left on the pass further to that my steak was cooked well done really disappointed got a $13 discount won't be back .
Classic Australian pub with hearty food. Customer service is excellent, you can order drinks from the table and the owner even checked in to make sure we were happy with the meals. I would happily recommend this pub to anyone.
The service is friendly, the prices are reasonable and the food is delicious... A great place to take the family for lunch... Great kids play area too...
